What?

I did a research to know what is said in mandarin at the end of Limitless and it seems that the interpretation of the dialogue keeps a secret to why it's that kind of "life" Lindy was afraid of, rather than the happy ending most worldly minds might think it is. Because Eddie orders lobster without MSG (monosodium glutamate) added, and the word for 'MSG' sounds like 'scarf' in mandarin, so the waiter jokes saying that the scarf will protect his clothes (though native speakers don't actually use that word to mean 'napkin'), and then Eddie replies that however it won't protect his hands that are already dirty.

So, the reference to The Matrix could be interpreted as Eddie thinking there is no Truth, and not the scriptwriter's view himself.

Interesting, isn't it? Although the story is shit, the movie isn't.

It's up to you to imagine the disaster that follows.
